22-17 Philadelphia to Sea Maintenance Pipeline Crossing

The Captain of the Port, Delaware Bay, is notifying mariners of dredging operations that will obstruct the main navigation channel of the Delaware River on Friday, September 1, 2017 from approximately 8:00am to 12:00pm. Great Lakes Dock and Dredge will be relocating submerged dredging pipeline across the main channel, Delaware River, in the Deepwater Point Range between the R “24” and G “25” buoys.

Vessels wishing to transit Deepwater Point Range between 8:00am and 12:00pm must contact the Dredge Illinois on VHF Ch 13 or Ch 05 to make passing arrangement. Mariners are advised that pipeline will be floating across the channel and extending outside both the green and red buoy lines during the evolution.

Due to the nature of the dredging operations, future obstructions are likely as Great Lakes Dock and Dredge continue downriver into New Castle Range. Mariners are advised to look for future notices regarding this project. Any questions can be directed to sector Delaware Bay’s 24 hour command center at 215-271-4807.
