DIVING OPERATION IN MARCUS HOOK ANCHORAGE (CHANGE 3)

The Captain of the Port (COTP), Delaware Bay, is notifying mariners that Commerce Construction will be conducting surveying and diving operations in Marcus Hook Range and Marcus Hook Anchorage No. 7 on the Delaware River, beginning on April 30, 2018 through June 30, 2018.

A safety zone will be in place in all navigable waters within 250 yards of the diving vessels, as well as any associated equipment operating in Marcus Hook Anchorage or Marcus Hook Range.

***Beginning at 5:00 am on Monday, May 14, 2018 through sunset on Friday, May 18, 2018, diving and pipeline removal operations will be conducted on the green side of the channel at approximately 39° 48.162” N, 075° 25.391” W. Work will be conducted daily from approximately 5:00 am through 7:00 pm. Please see attached chartlet for approximate location***

Any vessel requesting to enter or transit the safety zone during these hours must contact the towing vessel JOKER or the towing vessel GRAPE APE via VHF-FM Channel 13 or 16 to make satisfactory passing arrangements. Vessels may also contact Sector Delaware Bay’s command center via VHF-FM channel 16 to request permission to enter.

Vessels must operate at the minimum safe speed necessary to maintain steerage and reduce wake when transiting in the anchorage and main navigational channel in the vicinity of the safety zone.
